Generic pads compromise between street manners and performance. The D1 compound is built around one job — predictable, repeatable rear brake behaviour under drift conditions. That specificity shows in how the pad responds when you need modulation, not guesswork.
A drift-specific compound with very high friction — 0.50–0.55 — and a deliberately low 380°C ceiling. Project Mu specify it for the rear axle only. Fitting it to the front is a mistake: the ceiling is far too low for front-axle work on a circuit.
