WinmaX call W5 their standard circuit model, and it is the compound most Australian club racing runs on. It asks for around 100°C before it is at its best, so it is a full-session race pad rather than a road one, and holds friction to 750°C. If you are choosing one compound for a club race weekend and nothing else is known, this is the sensible starting point.
These are the compounds we stock for the Wilwood Superlite 7416 / 7420 whose published friction and operating temperature come closest to WinmaX W5. They are a starting point for switching brands — not a guarantee of identical feel, because each manufacturer measures friction on their own equipment.
